Biltmore Hotel Rooms Going Fast - Nearby Hyatt Regency Will Serve As Conference Overflow Hotel
Rooms at The Biltmore Hotel, site of OBCAI’s 2010 Annual Conference are going fast. “We have surpassed the total registration of last year’s conference,” said Richard Meyers, OBCAI Executive Director. “Hotel rooms at the Biltmore may only be reserved for those who have already registered for the conference. As such, we will soon be announcing an alternate overflow hotel for attendees in the area – the Hyatt Regency – once the Biltmore sells out.” Read more

Landlords Butt Heads with Regus Over Possible Insolvency
The British Property Federation (BPF), the association representing UK landlords, has accused Regus of taking advantage of a loophole in insolvency rules and forcing landlords to take cuts in rental rates. In March of this year, The Guardian reported that Regus had announced the possibility that it would put parts of its business into administration (similar to Chapter 11 status in the US) unless an agreement was reached regarding rental cuts and other concessions on the part of the landlords. FTC Says Scammers Stole Millions Through Virtual Companies
The U.S. Federal Trade Commission has focused on a long-running scam involving “virtual companies.” Of relevance to the OBC industry, the scammers’ fictional companies often provided addresses through virtual identity programs from Regus. Read more
